Yes, live chess is not going to have any public chat rooms in the near future, however, you will be able to go into groups and use their chat rooms to chat and connect with your people :)

I am not a good chess player, but I learn through the chat as some poeple teach me in-game through it. I win because my boss sneaks on my account during my tea break, he always disables the chat.
If we could just have a tick-box to always have chat or not, then why do we need to remove it? it is a defining feature between here and the other chess sites

They need to put up signs. I thought THIS was the chat room.
I bet having the chat tab is difficult to moderate. Getting rid of it sounds like a good idea.

I've heard rumors that chess.com is killing the Chat Tab!
But the chat tab allows people to connect to people they don't know internationally! How if you made a group that was in english? How about a guy he didn't know english? And the main hall is used to find great mods to play with! COme oN! Please don't take the chat thing off! I really love it!
