The disadvantage of eBoards playing on chess.com

I have a Chessnut Pro. I love it. I wanted to get away from the screen and start thinking and viewing in 3D again, and this fits the bill.

However, there is a distinct disadvantage when playing someone who is playing on a screen with a mouse since you must move their piece for them and also your piece with the inherent brief lag (It does feel like the registration on the board is very quick when it registers on the screen but even the half a second you need or more to move the piece loses time). Thus, I have given up all speed chess games on the board. Which is fine since I wanted to get back towards more classical chess and have deeper, longer things. But, I notice that I am still getting into time trouble. While I may be thinking longer, I certainly am losing some time compared to my opponent. I wish they would create a default of 30/15 or 10 and 45/15 or 10. I also wish there could be some way to pair Board players so there is not an advantage for one player concerning the time but I suppose this requires a larger critical mass of Board players. In the meantime, I will just have to play a little faster than my opponent to make up for the disadvantage even in 30 minute games.

I have a Chessnut Pro and have been thinking about the same thing. But I will not se that as unfair in favor for my opponent, because as compensation I have a 3D view of the board.

When it comes to time controls I would also prefer the 10/5 as a default (like on Lichess), since that is the time control I play the most - and the fastest time control suitable to play OTB when I have to move for my opponent and the small delay that there is in led lights and all.

When game comes down under one minute for me and the game is not near the end, I switch to the computer (or other device) to finish the game where I can respond to my opponent more quickly.
