How many ways can you say, "It's a draw"...
The dolphin language of chess.
Chess jargon. One of the M-W jargon definitions: "confused and unintelligible language."
Another says: "a strange, outlandish, barbarous language or dialect."
All I make out of this is: Dolphins are barbarous.
It was a dead draw, and it is a dead draw. You lose your right to "castle". Obviously, he has checked it with the computer. Suddenly, she decides, that she is very secure. She has been on many squares - multiple times. I just can´t believe black surviving this. A lot of analysis. Promise to win the knight. Two connected passers should be enough. Those checks only help white. Then the king runs again. White will claim. Naka is on fire. That´s essentially what has happened.
lol
Even after loving chess for so long, I am still surprised knowing only the phrases in my own language. Ah, the joy.
Garry Kasparov - Hikaru Nakamura special: 😎
When Hikaru does it, he just looks majestic. Garry certainly would love .. to spoil Nakamura´s party. They're going into the Scotch again. Now everybody´s playing this variation. They´re copying Hikaru. A little bit trickier to play if you haven't analyzed. The adjustments these elite grand masters make. Look at Naka, this is his posture, when he is comfortable. The neurons are firing well. He had both paws hanging in the center. Qd2 - inviting the capture. There is only one play in the position. He went from being ahead on the clock, to now being way down on the clock. Queen takes, and Garry leans back in shock. Nakamura not wanting to have a position, where he stood worse strategically - has sacrificed his piece. Big, Big decision. I like white´s position - the two B´s especially. Clear edge. He´s going to call on his entire repertoire of defensive skills to save this one. Garry now droped his bishop back, we saw him screw that piece into g3 square. Did you like that twist? Extra bishop on the board. Two pawns totally insufficient for the bishop. This is dominant. He knows that pawn on d3 looks ´delish´. He wants lunch right now. As black defends. The value of the extra piece. Black is defending with everything. Nakamura does not like to give up. Never resign. He can not take the pawn yet. That capture creates to difficult of a technical issue. Garry getting more activity. He's overwhelming the position. He´s won the pawn cold. Nakamura scrambling now. And down on the clock. This is resign soon. A mate threat on the board. He just ripping pawns left, and right. Nakamura stunned right now. It could have been a coronation. Can he pull together the sequence. The game should be over already. Garry is not finding the way to win this position. Nakamura not giving him any easy road. There goes a trade of rooks. Passed a-pawn is the story of the position. This is not the technique I woul´ve taught Garry would use. Chasing the king away, and winning a rook. Amazing by "the King".
When you take some of the commonly occurring phrases, related specifically to the chess community:
Huge tempo. And he stabilizes. He´s on 100 %. White did everything right. Magnus Carlsen - the world champion. Yeah, but if I just take- take? And loosing on time. He´s already got some seconds. Can play without any risks. You promote. White is out of the woods. White can never win. You can never leave your h 5 pawn. Wants to continue. And loosing on time. How do you stop the a pawn? I am not sure if its a draw. Clarify the situation in the center. You don´t want to take. Your king is super safe. You trap the e3 pawn. He wants stability. We are up to see a very interesting ending here. He can never take. That´s an ugly way to make a luft´ for the king. Long checks for white. Bishop is a monster. Nc5 with a tempo. A typical blitz scenario. Who is playing for what? You might be ok, but you have to be super precise. This must be very frustrating to the opposition. The king is out of the box. Finally, we have the results.
Jumping back, and forth through any tournament coverage will produce a good amount of them.🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬
