What do you think is the key to success, I find that if you wear comfy clothes, drink lots of water, and are in a quiet room you do best. What do you think.

Find your strong spots and reinforce them, do the same with the weak ones, then find your opponent´s weak spots and attack them while at the same time you try to weaken his strong spots...

Plus always analize the position, think like your opponent and try to see what he will do in the next following moves. Always try to be one step ahead.

Meditation is always good before a tourney. Get a good night's sleep, eat a good breakfast, and bring gum because it's said to stimulate the brain but also because it's tasty.:)

yes gum does focus your brain, I find that when I play on here I need to have gum or my brain is unfocused.

Get a cup of coffee. Sit down a few minutes before the game, turn off the mobile, adjust the pieces, check the clock, fill in the details on the score sheet. Relax.

SlipperySims

Do a SWOT analysis before every move.  Check Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat for all moves.  I got the idea from a business management book but noticed G. Kasparov nentioned it in "How Life Imitates Chess."

Study lots + practice what you studied against opponents = improvement. That's the secret for anything u want to achieve in life.

Nothing beats old fashioned hard work! Prior planning prevents poor performance i once was told.
