The only difficult ones always seem to be these stupid computer generated positions with some subtlety that most humans will not see and that would NEVER EVER actually occur in a real game! Tonight I'm wondering why I'm wasting my time looking at these! The first dozen puzzles or so are stupid usually mates in one or back rank mates (or some other ridiculous simple win). But then they follow them up with stupid computer generated puzzles that no one would ever deal with in a real game.
Yes, puzzles are a waste of time.

thats because if you take the queen then it's stalemate .

i have not seen any of chess.com puzzles but i agree, they are probably stupid

Yeah now i see how dumb it is. Qf5 saccing the queen would lose on the spot.
I think around 3200-3300 it starts getting a bit weird. More calculation and evaluation with very little tactics.
Personally, untill 3000, like 90% of the puzzles are ok.

Wasn't there a puzzle where the entire gimmick was that you had to stop the 50-move rule from taking effect? That is dumb.

With a puzzle rating of 6893, I have authority to state that puzzles are fine, any puzzle can happen in a real game, since after 3 moves you hvae 121 millions possible moves. So everysequence is technically possible.

OP: did you ever played real chess? I mean against real opponent. Playing against bots has nothing in common with chess. And if you’re 1400 in rapid and 2700 in puzzles so it’s quite obvious that you’re cheating in puzzles or you just can’t play chess.

What are you talking about? A 1300 point difference between rapid and puzzle score is quite common.
