The most UNFAIR RULE OF chess.com is not getting a second chance over a misclick!!!!!🤬🤬🤬
A chess game is not intended to test your hand-eye coordination.
That's what Minesweeper was designed for.
Those mines aren't going to sweep themselves.
Misclicks are a part of the game, when playing online. A frustrating part of it, sure ... but part of it nonetheless.
Here's Magnus losing in the finals of the Champions Chess Tour - because of a misclick:
Oof!
It's not unfair at all. The same exact thing can happen to your opponent.
Wonder if you'd be complaining then.
But what if you mess up, then you could simply take it back. That isnt fair. I think each time we do a move, they need to ask to comfirm if that is what we are playing
A confirmation is potentially viable for longer time controls, certainly not blitz or bullet. I don't think all players would like a confirmation, as misclicks are generally uncommon and may not be worth the preventative measures that use clock time. And to address the original grievance, if we could get a second chance after a misclick, couldn't we just call all blunders "misclicks"?
You know what. I think it should should stay as it is. Cuz in chess, its not really about your rating is it. You lose some games and win some games and if you misclick, you know its a misclick that isnt a blunder that you made. Also you can get your points back since you will be playing against weaker opponents. Your just trying to get better at the game. Misclicks rarely happen and a comfirmation button will cost some time if your playing with like 10 seconds left and a take-back isnt viable as everyone could call a blunder or missed mate in 1 a misclick
