Can someone differentiate the V2 and V3 sets for me, please? Because, well, I love my Butters, and while I don't need another set, I'm not gonna lie about not wanting another set especially if they're different enough to tell apart. Plus, I made some new friends this last weekend at a 3+2 tournament (my first OTB tournament ever; I got absolutely slaughtered) because the Butters play FAST. I mean, I knew they were stable in principle, but 15|10 is the shortest control I normally play and they were very satisfying in practice. Only one opponent recognized them, exclaiming, "OH! Are these BUTTERS?!?" followed by ooh-ing and ah-ing but that got other folks' attention, so, y'know, they're known and there's interest. Can't promise how much interest, but it's there.
Timmy,
Here is the difference...the weighting system. The V.2 has the standard weighting system where the weights will eventually loosen up and rattle.
The V.3 system has what I call the infinity weighting system in it. This is a very rare system (for weighting chess sets) to use where the weights cannot come loose or fall out due to the manufacturing process. It is very slow for the production and costs around 30% more to manufacture this way. This is part of the reason on the higher price for the set compared to lesser weighted sets out there.
thanks

There are many people who bought those V2 Butters from you with the impression the Ultimates would not be produced again in that distinct color. If that color is used again, well, lesson learned I guess.
Is the buyer open to maybe a variant Butter color with a very very small subtle color tinge? Subtle greenish "keylime" color? Or orangish? It'll be distinct. Unusual. Unique. If that's what the buyer is after. If the buyer is interested in Butter and only Butter that's a different story.
From a strictly business perspective, if you have an open wholesale order for 2000 sets of V3 Butter yellow, go for it. That's money on the table. And uhhh,,, get paid up front
