The next time you finish a game of chess, just think...

The game that you and your opponent have just shared together will probably never be played ever again. Also, no-one else will ever know that it happened (unless you tell someone that is)! A lot of the games that you played when you were younger are long forgotten. Thousands of games a day that are played on chess.com are just ignored forever.

So, that game is your own personal piece of history. Doesn't that feel awesome? Wink

Just think about how many games could have gone unknown and unloved (like Morphy's Opera Game or the Evergreen Game) if they were not published?

It's unfortunate that I've won games the same way dozens of times in blitz. And I've both lost to, and won with, common sequences in OTB games.

But yeah, some of them are rare.
