Well #1 the dutch is bad #2 the old Benoni is bad so play: Any Slav, King's Indian, Nimzo Indian, QGA,QGD, The Modern Benoni, Grunfield.
The Old Benoni
The main plan of the benoni is to get a strategically lost position in all 3 areas of the board, but come up with creative and deep tactics to save yourself... good luck lol
I don't know the dutch, but it doesn't seem to offer much variety. Nimzo and slav do for sure. QGD/A not as much I think, but still very good positions of course.
What are the main plans of the Old Benoni and what are some of the lines. I want to learn a new d4 opening since all I know at the moment is the Dutch defense which brings about highly specific positions. . .I want to get a variety of positions and I don't think that the Dutch really offers that. Does anyone think the Dutch DOES offer a variety of positions and if not does the Benoni/Old Benoni allow a variety of positions?
