The calculating style with sharp positions and constant need for concentration and calculation is more exhausting physically. That is why Kasparov retired at age 42.
The logical, positional style is less demanding physically, that is why Smyslov could still play the Candidates' Finals at age 63.
The only thing that will beat Magnus....is age.
