Start a new game. If the other player makes a move just play it as a simul.
i think you have to play quickly chess, for exapmpl 10 min or 5/5 it's more interesting than you are waiting you opponent
I have one of those games right now. Daily chess i move/day. I have K and Q he only has his K. He's making me chase him around the board. He's down to three squares. I need to move my K into position for mate, about 8 moves so theoretically this may take a week. v frustrating!
If your opponent has time on his clock still, he's entitled to use it. If you don't like it play with shorter time controls.
Fair enough but there is common courtesy also. Luckily my opponent finished the game in timely fashion, with the expected outcome.
