Are there any parental controls on this site? There should be. Like allowing them to play without communicating with strangers? If I had children, I wouldn't want them chatting with anyone, at least until they reach a certain age. Anyway, I though that was gonna be what this thread was about, lol.
It's not a problem, you're free to ignore them if they annoy you. IDK it just doesn't seem like a good idea to take a learning tool away from child players. If we want more Magnus Carlsens later then kids need to play chess now.
I'm a kid and I don't play video games or 30 min so I'm fine to play chess. I also have good sense. (For instance, I said I'm "a kid" and didn't say my age)

This isn't only a thing kids do... well, I'm assuming your opponent was a kid, but kids aren't the only ones that stall or be annoying in chat. Adults do that sometimes too.

chesskid is an option if you want to limit a childs exposure

ay it was only 75 moves, and the flexibility of 30 minutes is great because i have a tournament coming up.

You're a diamond member. You can play multiple games at the same time.
And for those who can't, you should know this happens... open other tabs and do other things when they start stalling. Maybe you could start a game on lichess or example.

thing is i get so into the other game (ive done it before) i completely forget about the staller and he just makes a move and i lose. I should try being proactive.
