The ROOOOOOOK and The KNIIIIIIIIGHT

Followed it up with this beauty today - my tactical sight is on point - the sequence in the middle is excellent.

@josh11live - sorry, what do you think was wrong with the way I handled the endgame? (Not insulted, just curious)
and the time control was rapid, Elo’s of around 1950

Ah, I see. Would you like to share the line you saw? Endgame technique is always something worth studying and diversifying so I’d love to see what you had in mind

Ah, nice idea... only issue is it hangs a fork on that move and I lose!

Very good question. Strategic planning and positional play are probably the hardest aspects of chess, and definitely the weakest aspect of my game.
A lot of it, I think, stems from experience in the openings they play. They know the plans associated with their middlegames and certain pawn-structures. They know, for instance, how to handle IQP positions or "Hanging Pawns" structures, and they make sure that every move has a purpose. True masters are able to blend tactical vision with sound, long term positioning of pieces.
They don't always get it right - no one does - and we only see the games where they get it right because it is impressive!!
Sorry for clickbait-y titles, but the sacs in this game would make Levy (@gothamchess) blush! Thematic rook sacrifice for the Tartakower, and while the knight sacrifice was not blessed with the double exclamation mark by game review (computer finds m5 - I say making your opponent choose between their queen or mate in 2 is plenty of calculating for me).
