The Short Games

I am interested in the very shortest games of chess. Everyone knows about the Fool's Mate 1. f4  e5  2. g4  Qh4#.

I think that it was actually played once at an international tournament.

But you must realize that there are actually eight games like this where two people can sit down and play regulation chess and have black win after the second move. Of course, half of these are transpositional.

But what about games where white wins on the third move?  I count 86 such games (lots of transpositions). My 86 games are just a reverse of the Fool's Mate with white having an extra move. But are there any other ways White can win on move three?

And what about games where black wins after move three?

I once lost a game (as black) after seven moves. This was at a tournament that convinced me that I should no longer play tournament chess.

I would like to keep this compilation going up through the first 13 moves of the game but I am sure that would involve a lot of computation and programming that I am too lazy or to old to do.

I would love to hear of any short games (13 moves or less) that you know of, preferably from your personal experience (winner or loser).

Ok, I goofed! That was 1. ... e5 rather than a5. Thanks for catching this. At least somebody cared enough to reply. It is interesting that I can actually play the game you replied with, rich. That suggests that teleporation might be legal in some venues.

Thanks for the game. I will add it to my collection. It is an example of 'weakening the f pawn' class of games. There was a nice article here on Chess.com a few months ago about this kind of error. Wish I had saved it.

By the way were you white in the game you listed?
