The Site Could Use More Balanced Content
Well, I don't waste my time on things I don't believe will benefit me. I also don't like watching video's often because I believe interactive learning is more beneficial than passive learning. It can be a source of entertainment or in some lesser extent, a way to learn something I otherwise would have to pay to learn in a more interactive way, but I generally find I can or could find a more interactive way to learn the same material a video provides. But that's just me, I know some people binge YouTube and other videos on chess and seem to learn well from doing so (although I seriously wonder if they'd learn faster by using a more interactive way to learn).

it's just more difficult to find interactive ways to learn. The internet is easy and accessible. If I use myself as an example, I'm about 2 hours away from any sort of otb tournament. I relied on books and videos. Of course, I prefer books, which allow me to follow along on a board, doing said interactive learning. But it's not easy.
I agree Jordan, and that's why I loved the real lessons so much, but once I got over 3000 the rest are all videos with 5 lessons tacked on at the end. The lessons were the reason I bought the membership and I've been down to the video lessons and the regular ones for a while now, grappling with doubts of whether or not there wouldn't be a better way to use my time. Interactivity is definitely a good thing, but relevance is even more important, and I know that I need to get away from the idea that I can just watch pretty much everything on the site and try to find more relevant ones. The problem is that this isn't easy at all to do at this point, kind of like playing Let's Make a Deal with hundreds of doors and a high likelihood of goats behind any given one. Still though, that's the task right now, thanks again for your feedback Jordan!

I used to enjoy the lessons a lot, too. But at some point I just wasn't getting as much as I wanted to out of them, so I downgraded from diamond to gold. The extra money, I spent on books. Once you do enough of them, it feels more like a chore instead of a joy.
No I want to use the content on here in addition to whatever else I do. I'm not looking to spend more money here and there's a limited amount of the sort of content I'm after on YouTube. This discussion has caused me to rethink my approach to being selective, and it only makes sense to to through content you consider more helpful first. It doesn't make sense to do it any other way, and being anal about watching all the videos on here and doing it in sequence just isn't efficient.
