Ok, journeyman i gotta go into detail now. Today we live in a increasingly secular world, many people being born of jewish mothers do not consider them selfs jews, bobby fischer was one, "Jew"  or to be jewish reffers to religious philosophy, in this context. Jewish is not really a race its a religion. I dont consider "moderates" jewish, "moderate" sounds like fair weather practitioners those are not the one that can not use door knobs or money or spit on the side walk when you walk by. WE ARE talking about acctual practicing jewish people. Not the guy who say for example im christian because i live a christ like life style but totaly agree with Richard Dawkins. I know many moderate jew that go to temple like once a year but know nothing about the religion and avoid calling themselfs jewish to me they are not jewish they are Americans or what ever region they choose to define them selfs as. Jewish is a religion not a race, there are russian jews, black jews, polish jews, israli jews, german jews, american jews. Jewish is a mindset not a set of genes.

voluminous, pseudo-authoritative publication. I am not

today, nor have I ever been a Jew, and as a matter of

fact, I am uncircumcised.

I suggest rather than fraudulently misrepresenting me

to be a Jew, and dishonestly abusing my name and

reputation as a kind of advertising gimmick to improve

the image of your religion (Judaism), you try to

promote your religion on its own merits--if indeed it

has any!

In closing, I trust that I am not being unrealistically

optimistic, in thanking you in advance for your

The illusions you are forced to believe because you want to hold on to something you think is real, does not make my knowledge wrong. In a minority of one, truth is not anything else. And does any religion have any merit? Violently ingrained idea of religion is to polarize society..and keep wars going. There are Gods, but they have nothing to do with religion. We are the guardians of this planet. When the "gods" .arrive, the only thing they will do with religion is to get the gold caps that go n top of the pyramids..refurbish the pyramids with alabaster sides gold too, mix up some chemicals and we go back online one with the electric universe!...I am like my dog is when he awaits my return...I know I will make a good pet...I learned some new tricks...but the illusion says the Americans won WWI and WWII...never happened...we were taken over by the Bush Harriman nazis! Religion...what an illusion...almost as good as as history books and corporate news. It could be a peaceful planet, but everybody is trying to survive by profiting off of everything...from air to water to food...avarice,the crux of the profit oriented mindset...they screwed Fischer and Spassky up with all kinds of covert Cold War chest thumping. Our country is better because we have a better chess champion, boxer, wrestler, all the way to having the best one and only true religion...what an illusion...the plague and wars and inquisitions...wiped out reality minded people...we are left with illusions created by delusional people...that witch hunt, and Crusade about...inprison,war...it does not have to be this way, but they make it this way by creating this illusion.

Let's be short about Fischer. He was a self- loathing Jew.

Outing Frank Brady as a tabloid journalist has earned me the lasting emnity of his friends, its a small price to pay for exposing the truth.

First off, there's nothing wacko about religion. This, too, is a violent illusion. Even all the greatest scientific and philosophical ideas we have including Darwin's Theory of Evolution, The Big Bang, and Einstein's Theory of Relativity are just models that come close to truth through their simplicity, application, and ease of reference. The bible can be read in a way that advocates evolution, the big bang, AND Einstein's theory of relativity since the text itself is very poetic and poetry itself is inherently open to vagueness of interpretation(Poetry reflects the fuzziness of our sensory world. It is the best representation of our qualia perception in all its imperfection/inherency). 

 

The impulse behind God is a positive one: We as humans have a place in the Universe, since we exist. 

I personally am a believe in what can be called an Ontotheistic Spirituality, but is more commonly referred to as the main doctrine of the New Age of Aquarius movement. I believe that our perception of God is the same existence itself. The "I" or singular Self can understand God only through the "We" or Collective Self, the Universe itself is a living mirror, being, and entity and that entity is the One True God. In light of this mystical philosophy I also don't agree with Darwinian Evolution. To me the idea that creatures compete with each other to survive doesn't reflect all of life, like does a tree have to compete with other trees? No, they just exist, and in existing they benefit all other lifeforms. In fact, only fauna compete with each other, it seems. And I don't think they do this to evolve, they do it as part of some grand game, though maybe that is the driving force behind earthly evolution. A lot of animals could benefit from being able to interact with each other more..

So to sum up, I actually am a proponent of a philosophically interesting idea called Collective Evolution. The idea that all the Universe is evolving together, perhaps as the consciousness of the whole thing expands. 

 

TL;DR These views might seem crazy to some, but they are no more crazy than the views of religion or science. To say "all religion should be abolished" is like saying "all men should be straight" or "all philosophy is pointless. It's these kinds of inflammatory statements that step all over others' worldviews that need to be abolished. Remember its not scary that others might choose to believe. People will kill each other over what they believe though, and thats scary.

The Bible cannot be read in a way that advocates evolution. In the Bible man is a direct creation by God, he did not evolve.  The idea of creation as espoused in the Bible and the idea that life emerged from non living matter in a pre-biotic soup and diversified into all its forms are mutually exclusive.

Even literate theology will get this thread locked. Yours is not that, but it is equally in violation of the site rules.

In Bobby Fischer Against the World, Larry Evans said Bobby didnt know what to do with his life after he won the championship. And even when Fischer was on Johnny Carson he said that something had been taken out of him when he won.

Why is it that he felt this way? Isn't there still a goal to keep being world champion?

Yes there is not a shred of empirical evidence that Fischer was mentally ill, thats what makes Dr. Bradys book so scurrilous.

Yes, Barbara Streisand had a schoolgirl crush on him when they attended Erasmus Hall at the same time. That means nothing and certainly doesn't mean she thought highly of him as a person, particularly in adulthood. And Bobby, by his own words, did not seem to be aware of her during their school days, they hardly ate lunch together everyday (unless "ate lunch with him" means "ate lunch in the same cafeteria"). There's not really any indication from ether Bobby or Barbara that they knew each other on a personal level.

You should try to do better at 'outing'.  Did you finish reading the book?  Your review fizzled out after #250 and then you drifted off into Fischer's Judaism.

Even though you made a great effort is using flowery language to make an appearance of substance you didn't really leave me with the impression that you understood the work.  Maybe cite a troubling passage or writing a conclusion that was more than an 'expectation' would have conveyed your review better.
