He was just so smart:

He was da man, truly deserving of a R.I.P. A brilliant mind, yet self-deprecating humor.  If you haven't read his book "Surely You're Joking", run (don't walk) to get a copy...

Yeah this guy is incredible. Watch his old lecture on his explanation of the double slit experiment. Probably one of the first explanations of the experiment explained to laypersons…

Feynman was a great man and a great physicist. His Feynman diagram greatly simplified the description of particle interactions. He also had some great quotes:

"I learned very early the difference between knowing the name of something and knowing something." - something I'm constantly reminded of when playing chess.

"The highest forms of understanding we can achieve are laughter and human compassion."

I was looking for another quote of his where he basically called his fellow physicists idiots for giving quarks the names they have when I stumbled on this one. It closely matches my own life philosophy:  "Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn’t matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough."

Feynman was a true inspiration, an exemplary physicist and not half bad as a chess player.

Feynman was a legend in science. This is very interesting,

I wonder if any chess game by Feynman is known.
Here is a game between two other physics legends
