There should be a main-lines/side lines bot to practice openings

Seems like you either get super crappy random play with the low ranked bots or computer-y very non-human like play with high-ranked bots.  I really just want a bot that plays well into classic main lines or side lines of all the commonly played openings.  It seems rare that I get anything that's remotely what like what real play is like.  

You can play from any starting position.
Do not worry about openings, chess is more than openings.

Why does every expert on here want to give the same inane lecture about how not to worry about openings?  

Like - I've played over 500 games on Chess - the vast majority of them without knowing openings my opponent plays or playing without one myself.  I've gone from less than 600 to 1100 in 6 months at age 50+, all self taught.  

You don't think I already know you can play without knowing formal openings?  Sheesh.  

I think higher rated bots will play your main lines and side lines, but the game will be tougher for you. Afterall you don't need a bot for that, you can make moves by yourself :)
