Quitters..It’s like, God forbid you make a bad move and end up having to try and pull yourself out of a tough situation. I mean of course we all get that slightest sense of disappointment in ourselves after making those bad moves but I actually tend to embrace the challenge. How else will you ever get better? Please, finish the game. You never know what the outcome may be! Have confidence in yourself..because its a bad time in the chess community when you’re getting more victories from abandonment and resignations rather than checkmates. Let’s play the game we all love my fellow chessmates👻.

Cheers.

We have lives, Dude. Nobody has any interest in sitting there grinding away at a losing position. For what?

Agree

If they're up +5 or more and I have nothing but pawns against a couple rooks, what, then, is the point?  I'm toast and I'll take the loss and move on.

Resigning is fine. Letting your time just run out is stupid

Resigning is not quitting lol. Resigning in a deperate situation is actually respecting your opponent.

I agree with OP on people who abandon games, but disagree on OP's view of people who resign,

Now, I am not against trying to defend an inferior position. In fact there are quite a few games where I had a much better position but couldnt convert due to excellent defense from opponent's part and inaccurate play from mine. The vice versa is also true. But however playing when you are down a queen or a rook against a decent player makes no sense is simply a waste of time
