I like all the new variants, something you don't have in V2
Things I like about V3.
Yes, I suspect you're right about why I got an alert for this thread, Caedral. I've turned that off in Settings.
The Notes I mean are group (now "club," apparently) Notes.
It appears changes are being made that fix some of the things I haven't liked. Thank you, chess.com gods.

You have to turn off club alerts, club by club.
Honestly, V3 is excellent. Aside from the features, I love how it demonstrates people's unbending status quo bias.

But I still want alerts from *forums* in those clubs/groups. I just don't want *note* alerts from them.

I spoke too soon. Alas.

You can turn off Note alerts. Notes, News and new Forum content are separate alerts.
Really? How? I go to Settings and then to Alerts and Email--and I don't see how to turn off Note alerts without turning off Forum post alerts.

I found conditional moves. And I do like being able to see how many votes have been recorded for each move before making a Vote Chess move.
However, I've looked through Settings-->Alerts and Emails and have not found a way to stop getting note alerts while still getting forum post alerts. If you know of a way, I'd love to know it.
And my Vote Chess game alerts are coming in the same spot as my forum post alerts. For a couple of reasons, this is annoying.
As for finding the right thread--blame the alert system. I got an alert for this thread, for no good reason I can discern (it isn't as though I had posted here before). I didn't get one for an "I hate V3" thread, and I'm not going to go searching through the system to find one.
You can also see how much time people have used for each move in a Live Chess game: I like that feature too, it shows where you and your opponent had to stop and think about things.
What are you calling a "note alert"? It's not when someone posts a user note on your profile - you don't have many of those recently, unless you're deleting them straight away.
I suspect you got an alert about this thread because @Sleepingbeauty is a friend of yours and you have "Alert me whenever someone I'm tracking posts new content" - you can either turn that off, or stop following sleepingbeauty while keeping her as a friend (hover over her name - like in above, where adding the "@" to the front of a forum posts links directly to that person's name - and it's one of the icons at the bottom - fourth from the left / 3rd from the right)
