Seriously?

I was under the impression that this site had a bunch of whiners who can't lose a game of chess without screaming for a rematch.

Force them to rematch? What if you have an opponent that trashes you literally the whole game and you win, and you have to play them all over again? The chances they'd use an engine just to get even with you are very high.

Translation: Can't force a rematch on others The thought of revenge doesn't help improve chess
The comment is chess related, but is that avatar photo really of the poster? Any opinions?

Does it matter? Not unless you're a stalker.

To the OP Alf this thread, just stop b**ching about not getting a rematch. People have better things to do then more match someone who will be a whiny loser if he doesn’t get a rematch/

This is spot on. No one has to accept a rematch, if people don't rematch then just move on with your life wink.png

The OP posted after losing 140 rating points back in October 2017, from 957 down to 817. The steam he let off three years ago is still invoking a lot of comments. Now I know how to become notorious for whining.

What about people who cant rematch because of family, job, business, booty calls, poor phone reception, bed time, meals. the toilet, the shower and all the other things in the world that interfere with your need for a rematch? evil.png

I almost never rematch.  I work very hard during a game, even a rapid game, and afterwards I need a little break before starting another game.  Recently I did accept a rematch because my opponent blundered within the first 6 moves, so we hadn't really had a chance to play.

wise move. I usually run the analysis to see where I messed up.

The other day I ended up playing a lower rated player 6 times in a row at Blitz. I was winning 3-1 but ended up at 3-3 and lost a load of ratings points (not good) and played garbage chess (even worse)

Why are 4 year old threads NOT closed by mods???

Why close a thread that is quite active? Why should the mods decide that the conversation will be terminated?

Avatar of nTzT

Because it has run it's course. No thread deserves this much attention for that long... The quality of the discussion ended long ago if there was any. It's also a very common topic anyway.

Telling someone they have to rematch, it’s like telling someone they can’t resign. It’s completely meaningless.

Those who are posting would owe a debt of gratitude to those of superior judgement, such as yourself or the mods, for having this thread terminated and thereby saving us from futher wasteful blathering. Please help us escape our foolishness.

Remember the resigning etiquette guy? @wornaki ? He said that he didn't mate the guy with a king and rook "because he didn't feel like it". If you know how to mate then mate the guy... If you expected the guy to resign he won't. there's a reason why people are taught how to do the king and queen checkmate... or else if everyone resigned down a queen but no one knew how to mate lol

This forum is almost EXACTLY like that guy's troll post.
