Thoughts on Hikaru's speedruns

I have nothing against speedruns in general if they are meant to be something didactical, like the ones of Naroditsky and Ginger GM. But I don't see any instructive porpouse in Hikaru's speedruns. The site basically allows him to make fun of other players. No matter if they get the points back, they probably wanted to have fun playing an opponent of their level, not a trash talking GM playing bongcloud and making views thanks to this authorised sandbagging. And maybe they will play nervously immediately after being crushed, so there could be a rating damage as well.

No worries. If they miss out on it it's recorded and uploaded so they can watch it later.

speedrunners are not doing it for didactical purposes and for humanity. they are doing for money. and they are making waste time for nothing to people who are studying chess and believe they can play with similar level players. Speedrun is a shit thing. unless you state "i am a speedrunner, if you want to play me..."
in any other case any pf them is simply shit like a cheater. that's my opinion and good luck to meke your money dudes (without me on the shitchessdotcom. adios
