I agree not to beat yourself up over it. And maybe use it to track your progress, and to try and fight tough opponents (slightly higher rated than you) to challenge. But I would never play unrated games, unless it was a "teaching" game where one player is coaching the other. Playing unrated kinda defeats the purpose.

Try to utilize your rating when deciding what type of opponent you would like to play and whether or not to choose a rated or an unrated game. Also use it to measure your progress. Definitely do NOT use it to beat yourself up.
