Threefold Repetition bug?

Hi

Today I got a very strange draw by the threefold repetition rule. What I do not understand is that, beside being not fair, there was no 3 repetitions in a row in this game. Is this a bug in the system?

hi shatorre,

Even though those repetition weren't really in a row, the position still repeated three times in a row.

Even though you moved the king and not the rook 3 times, you still got the same position.

No bug this time, but GG it was a nice game - keep going

The three repetitions don't need to be in a row. And anyway, these three *are* in a row.

It is a no sense, clearly a bug, I was winning the game, just thinking over the right position

but there was no repetition and if there was, it should be a stale position to be considered threefold

How can that have been considered a three repetition on the other players final move?

wow me give up, forget some rules.

Just read what the rule says.

By the way, why would you play Kd4 on the last move? Kc2 and white is done.

You don't have to like the rule and you can think its a bug. But the fact remains that the same position occurred 3 times.

What's the point of coming back 3 months later and keep talking nonsense? You got your answer.

It's not a bug. The repetitions do not need to be in a row, the moves don't have to be exactly repeated (different moves van lead to the same position), and the game did have an occurrence of triple repetition of position.
