Time LImit

I've been playing the same chess game for well over a month.  My opponent seems to take the full seven days between moves and suddenly stopped sometime last week.  The timer went out on him but it still showed he had 12hrs.  The 12hrs went on for at least 3 days.  How is this?  I'm extremely irritated and want to leave the game.  Unfortunately, my only option to resign to get out of it.  Could a Chess.com admin look at this game and tell me my options.  Oh and chat says disabled for my opponent so I can't talk to him/her.

I had this happen once. The timer said "a few minutes" for about a week. This guy had almost 500 games in progress. All of a sudden, he lost 300 games instantaneously (including mine) and his rating went from 2500 to 1700 in seconds. It was very weird. Maybe some admin can explain it.

Another theory is that they are premium members?

These members are allowed automatic vacation time when their games are nearly time expired.
