You should play rapid time controls, of which there are several times to choose from.
Whatever you choose, (IE: 10 means each side has 10 minutes, or 20 minutes total.) If no one resigns/draws/mates then whoever runs out of time on their clock loses, but the game cannot last more than 20 minutes, Or the selected time doubled.
You can also play increment. such as 10/5 or 15/10. The 10 or 15 is the clock time in minutes each person has, as above. The /5 or /10 is the amount of time in seconds added to the persons time, after every of their completed moves. With increment 10/5 all you know is the game can last longer than 20 minutes, because of the added seconds per move. But with increment, it can help avoiding losing on time if you are able to move quickly, such as in end games.
Now you understand clocks/time. Select a time and see how it works out, if to short then simply start playing a longer time control. But use your time to look for good moves, it does little good to play a 20 minute time (40m max. total) if you only use 5-10 minutes of it.
Bots vs People. > Generally, most people agree that playing people is better. In my opinion bots make better moves overall than people do. Then they make blunders. The lower rated, the more often perhaps this takes place along with how bad the blunder may be. A low rated bot or player both will blunder by moving a queen next to a pawn ready to be taken, and both may leave it there for 5 moves. It just seems worse with a bot because it plays better than a human. In my opinion, if you play bots you learn to win against a bot, but when you switch and play against a human you are somewhat lost. When you play and learn to win against a bot it is because you have learned how to respond against its moves and take advantage against its blunders. Then when you play against the next bot at the same level you have to respond against new moves and positions, even though it is at very much the same level, you don't understand what to do. Playing against people you will tend to meet many new positions and moves that you will not have met playing against bots, as such you will make mistakes and not understand what to do. Playing against bots is of some help of course, but if you wish to play people, you will learn faster by playing against people in my opinion. This is my opinion of what takes place.

Is it okay to play with the bots only?
I’d be grateful for any advice and guidance anyone has .
Thanks, Wayne
