time outs

I didn't play for a few months (finished all my games before I took the break) and came back and tried to join a tournament. I was unable because of "too many recent timeouts". A week ago I went to the 'stats' and it said I had 33 timeouts in the last 90 days (I had exactly none before taking the break) Today, with no new timeouts, the 'stat' page tells me I have 40 in the last 90 days. What is going on?
