A schedule is great, depending if you are the schedule type.

What I think is best is improving where you lack in skill. For beginners that is usually the Endgame, then Tactics/Combinations, then find one or two openings for black and white that suite you and learn them. After that you are probably an ok player.

If you have an IQ of 140 or 120 will not make a difference for the basic things. Endgames for examples are usually pretty simple, though even very good players can loose there because of one single mistake.

Yeah play some online games against real people here and learn from your mistakes.

Since you mentioned IQ,

If you don't mind saying, what IQ test was it and how many standard deviations was that? I get the idea some tests have std. dev. 10 and others have std. dev. 20.

Greater short-term working memory can mean seeing lines better and seeing combinations better.  That's a more specific test than IQ I think. There is a thing called "n-back training" to exercise it specifically, in case you never heard of that. Software available free from sourceforge.net. It's unclear whether the exercises help increase IQ; originally it was claimed so, but extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, right? Not all the studies had the same conclusion.

I keep reading that getting some exercise is good for the memory, probably for mental functioning too.  Probably more important than brain training.

easier said than done. Poker legend Allen Cunningham had a goal of getting to 2100 from nothing within a year, studying 6 hours a day, and 3 years later I think he's still "only" at 1800.

Cunningham’s goal was never to reach 2100, it was to win a bet by beating Howard Lederer in a single game.  Lederer had not played chess in a great many years and it was believed that his playing strength at the time of the match would likely be somewhere around 1900. Lederer eventually ran into some legal troubles and, best I know, the game has been postponed since.

That said, Cunningham improved tremendously in one year and was rated in the mid 1700’s near the time the original game was scheduled.  Cunningham then reached a rating of 1894 a few months after.  Because the bet appears to be postponed indefinitely Cunningham has admitted that his chess play has scaled back considerably as he pursues other hobbies and interests.

You reference Cunningham’s journey almost as if it was a failure.  To me, it’s highly inspirational and demonstrates that rapid chess improvement is possible.

I will admit though that it’s one thing to get to 1900 and quite another thing to reach 2000 as those last 100 rating points must be much, much harder to gain than any of the points before them.

Hi,

IMHO

"31.march - 15.may - (reading and studying from seiravaman(misspeld) winning chess tactics,2 hours each day)" won't add much after the CT-ART and Polgar book. The Winning series by Y.S. is great but quite basic. From 31. March - 15. May you can finnish his whole Winning series of books.

I think you will reach arround 1800-1900.

Good luck and keep us uppdated.

If chess would be so easy...its not excel, its a game of human errors!

I think you will end up around 1500 and thats worth nothing!
