For me it depends on how tight the game is. If I am running all over my opponent (which, by the way, does not happen often) I take anywhere from a few minutes to 10 or 15. If the game is intense, I can spend as much as an hour running variations. Either way, it doesn't seem to matter much, as my rating continues to fall
. Too many other things in my life are more important to spend more time on my games.

Yeah, but you only have 2 games going.
The point, Bulletheadbilly, is that I don't care to spend more time on chess . It is, after all, only a game, and while it does provide some mental stimulation, so do the many other things in my life. I see no profit in devoting more time to a game.
