Recently, I kept on running into opponents who either just kept the time running or attempted to disconnect from the game when they know that they already lost. Somehow, I feel that I get less points when they do that? Or perhaps I am mistaken?

No, a win is a win. Your opponents are just being childish.
it tells you how many points you get in the chat at the start of the game
In online chess there is a click-on for details and through it you can "show rating adjustment". This tells you how many points you will win or lose.
