My advice would be watch out for players who take a lot of space in the centre, they probably know what they’re doing to take advantage of the pirc being quite passive in many lines.

Similarly, if your opp castles queenside, be very mindful of kingside pawn expansions. It’s very easy to get overrun if you’re not careful!

For example, here’s a very short game I played in a club OTB tournament (granted against an opp considerably lower rated) that demonstrates the speed at which things can go south for pirc players if they’re not vigilant:

Tip #1. If you want to avoid the kingside attack, You would better off be playing a modern defense with a knight on h6.
It has b5, c5, And all other stuff to advance on the queenside.
But i doubt you suffer from that.

The Pirc Defense is underrated but it can be a surprise weapon to use against opponents, since it's not often that players play the Pirc (interestingly enough, pronounced "Peertz" in other languages). True, it *can* be passive/constricted in many positions, but the Pirc players who know what they are doing can be devastating against opponents. I recommend reading the old classics "PIRC ALERT!"//"THE COMPLETE PIRC", in order to use this less-well-known Defense effectively.
