Does this message mean that I was reported for bullying or something?

I just finished a game against a dude who, while the game was still in play and undecided, he said to me, "The reason you have lost this game is because you rely on your knight too much."

I responded, "I have not lost this game, but thanks for the lesson."

I didn't think my response was rude, but frankly I think its rude to make a comment like he did mid-game. Not that it matters, but I was up a pawn in the end game when he said so.

Anyway it seems maybe he reported me afterwards, because after the game finished, I got that message, and had to agree with community policies to continue.

Is this something people do here often? Report people when they have not done anything to warrant it?

Presuming you are telling us everything , your response was not rude and certainly not abusive. I think that the community policies response must have been auto-generated after your opponent reported you.  No human could have agreed that your remark was abusive. It shows the obvious problem in relying on computer moderators. My guess is that Chess.com doesn't have the staff to review 1000 reports per day of abusive remarks so it has to rely on the theory that really rude and abusive people will get reported 10 times as often as normal players.

I don't think it will hurt you unless you get a bunch of reports made by different people.

You could write to support@chess.com and see if you can get an explanation. Let us know if you get one.

On the other hand, that warning popped up when I went to look at your game :

Perhaps it was just a site-wide "Play nice" message.
