With thre games on the go you could be waiting till next week before it's your move, a good excuse to fly to the Bahamas for the week, have fun, come back and feeling more relaxed make your three moves better and of you go again, Bob' youruncle, lol!

I play for fun. Chess is not an obsession, or even the major pastime in my life, but it keeps my mind alert when I dip in. I'd rather play a few interesting games against good opponents than engage in some juvenile macho exercise based on the number of games I string along at any time.. a chess equivalent of "mine is bigger than yours". Quality is preferable to quantity. However, to each his or her own, but I prefer to get a life. I also like to get to know the people I play against and engage in dialogue, meaningful or otherwise.

With too many games it descends into playing by numbers. I'd rather go out on a limb on an opening and see where I go from there. I prefer crosswords and playing the markets anyway. They respectively really exercise the mind and keep you on your toes. I also have a business to run.

Sounds like you and I are very similar, Alec.

I have a life outside the world of chess. It involves a wife, two children and a business all of which are more important (to me) than chess. This site is a blast and I do enjoy it. I contribute financially to the site with my membership and will continue to do so. The fact that I choose not to play 500 games at once has nothing to do with being afraid or being a weak player (though I'm not a strong player). It has everything to do with priorities. It's more than just a game but that doesn't mean it's a way of life.

But as Alec said: to each his/her own. I condemn no one for playing more games or fewer games.

AWARDCHESS

I hear the dozen and dozens times, that I played too much of the games!

I just devoted part of my life on that priority activity to test my abilities.

I am not fit you on 1,000+ games, unless you are ready to be fit on 65 square Russian Chess Board of imagination!

AWARDCHESS! You have a timeout! That is disrespectful to your 1000s of opponents. I am ashamed!

zeeyee

i can only handle two or three games at a time; more games would be challenging.

ozzie_c_cobblepot

How much time do you spend in each move?

AWARDCHESS

Usually, just a few seconds!

thegab03

Likewise!

"AWARDCHESS! You have a timeout!".

I do not have a Time-Out, yet!

But the software made up a mistake and mess 3 times for last 24 hours with my games!

They put me on Auto -Stop Vacation Protection, when I has 6, 5, and 3 hours to left...

I understand your frustration in this matter but you must understand that some ids are smaller than others. Try playing with a little patience and use you passion on the board were it might be more appreciated. I for one enjoy many games but I have come to respect the short comings of others.

AWARDCHESS

Who told, that I am not respecting my partners?

I am playing just by the Rules!

But every day I got an ugly offensive messages, comments, notes from the frustration players, who never read the Rules, and who spam me and used foil language...

ILEARNEDAT7

for me this site offers a unique oppurtunity. to gain  an insight into views & values of people, from an almost unlimited  number of places .this combined with my natural curiousity of cultures, the general disposition of most chess players, and i'm lucky if i can keep up with 20 games......maybe a speech recognition program so i can dictate to chat, and still look at the board to play my move.ANYBODY KNOW OF ANY AVAILABLE DICTATION SOFTWARECool
