To join a livetournament select PLAY from top menu and go to "Tournaments", then select "Join Now!" box under Live Tournaments. In new page go to top right box and select Tournaments tab. Now you can see next tournaments list and select Join to start a tournaments. Your blitz rating is affected in 3 0, 5 0 and 10 0 tournaments.
