Perhaps this is a reason for the terrible condition of the community:

that might explain things but im sure if we look at this historically , the birdy dance didn't see trolls emerge on the net

It's really not so bad in chess.com. Some are lacking in sense of humor or thicker skin

The thickness of your skin has nothing to do with how you deal with how you're treated by others.  If you have thick skin, its probably due to callouses.

Why is the chess.com community so toxic? I only see mean comments on other player's profile.. It really bothers me, chess is supposed to be a game played by respecful people

There seems to be a misconception. Join a philosophy, literature or arts community. Chess is for the general public. No class, age, sex, etc distinction.

Really... Fan and Anti-fan wars ;}

That was just the expected b/ground noise though. Things got more hostile after Brexit/Trump happened... some forums died altogether, very sad.

It's getting so you can't tell them frpm the Democrats!

Is there a Utopian community? Nobody gets hurt in chess.com. Only feel insulted. And what hurts most are true accusations. Don't join the forums. Keep chat off. And don't ask for rematch.

Someone feeling toxic? Take 3 tablespoon of Castor Oil.
