Transition 2d for 3d board

I live in a place without clubs or regular tournaments, but I actually want to participate in OTB Tournaments in the future. How hard is the transition from 2d to 3d chess ?

I play my slow games with my board only using the screen to place the moves, but the tactics exercises, tactic books, endgame books... all of them are in 2d. Is that too hard to apply the patterns you learn this way in OTB play ?

You'll love 3d. Like going from vhs to blue ray.

OTB is way more fun than online.  You've got to try it out when given the chance -- even if you lose a few games due to the 2D/3D thing (so what? you're there for the experience).
