I think famous youtubers and gms like Hikaru and gothamchess will just post each of their games and make tons of money off it and everyone else who isn’t a titled player will not benefit from it at all. It still would be nice to buy another persons nft though

Or just download a copy of it for free...

Well, if you want to be able to say that you own a hyperlink in a blockchain that points to an image that anyone can download, then have at it.

It’s like an online trading card or piece of art. a good expample is the Mona Lisa, anyone can take a picture of the Mona lisa but they don’t own it, only the person who bought it owns it, works the same way with NFTS

But with NFTs, you don't even own the picture or image. That's the critical difference.

Okay, coffin dance has just sold they say, who is selling it? Why would someone buy it? with what purpose?

Who is selling it? Either the creator or the person who last owned it.

Why would someone buy it? Ego, to impress people?

With what purpose? To sell it to a bigger sucker for a profit (if you don't get caught holding the bag).

And the site swirls a little faster down the drain on online chess.

Might as well switch to lichess at this point...

NFTs suck why in the world would you want to buy a game.

@Fire Some people only want to watch the whole world burn…

If you aren't interested in it, you can just ignore it.

Hahaha! I just read a little about NFTs in Wikipedia and it says at some point "Financial theorist William J. Bernstein compared the NFT market to 17th-century tulip mania" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-fungible_token#Speculation

I agree why would you pay money to "own" a game? Although I guess it's good for Rich  weirdos that like this stuff. Although I don't think you should dislike chess.com for this, just never go to treasure chess out think about it again.
