The best thing you can do is step away. Easier said than done, though if you set a rule of thumb that you'll only play 3 games in a row and then take a break, you're much less likely to tilt and even if you lose all 3 games, taking that break and coming back is much better than you spiralling out and losing much more. As for the rematches, rematching with the intention of "I'll show you" is a terrible idea. Your emotions will cloud your judgement and worsen your play. Only rematch if you're okay with losing. Rematching just to feel the satisfaction is like doubling down when gambling. Regardless, if you treat every game/loss as a learning experience, you're much less likely to be overwhelmed with emotions after a tough loss. It's when you're just looking to win for a dopamine hit is when the problems start.
tricks for dealing with tilt from people making you angry

For me, the trick to stopping tilt is to stop playing, and start analyzing the games that you recently lost.
This will help you figure out some of your mistakes. It'll also pull you out of that emotional state, and bring you back into a logical frame of mind.
There's actually a term for getting upset and emotional: "amygdala highjack". It means the part of your brain that's responsible for "fight, flight, or freeze" is activated. That's when you start playing in a rush, wild and furious, full of adrenaline. This means your prefrontal cortex (the part of your brain that's responsible for analyzing, problem-solving, and planning) is deactivated. So you stop thinking and you start playing impulsively, instead.
That's tilt. It means: "Time to stop!"

hi all. I've noticed when I play particularly annoying people and lose that I'll go in to a tilt sometimes. How do you deal with this situation? Most of the time asking for a rematch in the hopes of beating them doesn't seem to help. It seems like the best way to stop tilting is to channel the anger in to playing harder in my next games. What works for you?
Weed.

so the funny thing is, I am kind of an emotional person and my most recent high score which was 40 points higher than the last one (different account 1797) was when I was buzzed from alcohol.

either take a break or play more honestly I just grind it you can't really "stop" tilting other then trying to not be so upset about the losses taking a break helps some people while others can just grind it out but I wouldn't worry about it too much since everyone tilts unless it is Perma tilt analyzing games can also help cause it acts at least like a 3 min break between each game

this should also work I would actually recommend instead of playing 3 games I usually (when I try to avoid tilt) play one game then take a break listening to something like music for a couple minutes then go back to the game but it doesn't really matter as long as you take breaks in between(while your tilting )
also word of advice when you lose more even if you get upset your not always tilting sometimes your learning more(ex my first game playing the scandi in like a year I lost to a 800 but eventually worked my way up to being able to beat 2200s with it (I play a mix of e4 and d4 so I'm not that good at openings)

If they are toxic, playing them again will perpetuate your lack of concentration. To get out of it you have to change your mindset. You have to have extra gears to be successful at chess, same as at many other things. You actually have to be able to change your mindset at will.
playing against annoying styles and figuring out a way to counter them is a good way to make them out so annoying or even learning how to play similar style yourself
