Anyone can send you a trophy and for any reason. I just sent you one. Some trophies can only be earned, like a tournament win. Other trophies can only be sent right after a game. They don't really mean anything except to show you're an active member. Periodically someone posts in the forums that they'll give anyone who wants a trophy whatever they want (except obviously tournament and game trophies). So they're pretty much useless.
