hard to do....but I DID IT!

Nordlandia

At present time, one minor piece in odds is possible the sweet spot when it comes to material considerations.

no no you're right he definitely should've taken that sacrifice

Instead of going offside try gauge realistic odds possibilities vs quad core.

Suvel

how did you make so that he didnt have a knight!

nice job though

post the game if you can

On fritz 12 do you go to insert position setup?

Threebeast

I think is that good training, but I also find that playing different chess engines with the Fritz GUI on the handicap setting is great.

ekorbdal

Why play with a handicap? Life in general deals out enough difficulties to all of us at times as it is...

i just set a position without the computer's b8 knight. Often my advantage was diminishing, and i always got into a drawn position or lost. (I moved around 20 sec of thought per move). The trick is to just trade everything...DON'T try to attack!

a bad game,  but I did it!

blasterdragon

thats not really that great of an achievement try winning against the engine on equal terms

Abhishek2

pshh like I could ever do that! Hey, why don't you try beating Houdini up a knight?

woudn't be hard since im up a knight i just trade down...

Fear_ItseIf

Knight = 3 points

I can beat the computer without its f and g pawns =2 points

my acheivement is therefor superior.

Seems possible:

Nordlandia

Let me adjust my earlier post, one minor piece seems too much even with high-end hardware. Two/three pawns +/- move is a different story.

Natalia_Pogonina

A 2000+ player should be able to do it most of the time.

goldendog

A knight's worth about 600 points as I recall.

600 points if the player is rated 2600 or 600 points if the player is rated 1600?

Statements like that lead to nothing.

vs strong opposition.

experiments on this by a gm lead to more than nothing.
