Hello guys I have a question, I have reached 1000 a couple days ago and it was one of the best feelings wver that only after a little under 3 months of playing chess i could acheive this but now 3 days later i see progress really slowing down, this ussually happens right as I reach a milestone since players get better so I ussually have something clear I need to improve on then i get to the next milestone but in this case I dont see a clear path to 1100, obviusly i need to get better at chess but how? I understand I need more tactical vision, and to stop blundering 2-3 move tactics my oponent has and try to see what my oponents want but none of that seems straight foward, before it was like start blunderchecking, or stop wasting tempos and play a real opening or sometimes it was just play more chess and get experience whixh were simple and straight foward you could just kinda do thoae but now I feel like im goingg in circles, I really want to reach 1100 but I just can't pinpoint one thing to work on, I feel like im drowning myself in gothamchess 1000-1300 level content and i get in a game with new motivation just to get absolutely destroyed. this is a pattern and thats why 3 days after i hit 1000 now im still only rated 1017 at the time of this post, to sumarize I dont know the next step to improve in chess other then binge watch gotham chess 1000-1300 to hope i learn something or just play keep playing to hope i get better eventually but I dont want it to come to that I dont wanna improve 100 elo every year or something just by playing games and learning in experience I know there has to be something i can concretly work on instead of just more experience and what i mean tactics I feel like mainly come from experience and puzzles which I already do and I know the tactics part of things tales a bit and experience is the best way but i know tactics cant be the only thing right? well thank you for your time and I thank you in advance for tips.

Whenever I start working with a new student who is stuck at a plateau, 9 times out of 10 they are playing 20 blitz games a day and doing zero deep analysis of their losses. Swap to playing just 2 rapid games a day, but spend 15 minutes analyzing each game on your own before checking the engine. Your rating will thank you.

It also took me 2 months To get just 120 + but now I am growing 20+ per week. The reason why cuz you should not play a lot of games because our mind has a limit of usage per day. So pls play less matches and long time matches so you could your ming wisely and also increase rating If it doesn't work, then try to do not play chess for few days. Hope it was helpful :)

You just hit 1000 elo milestone. Chill out, progression is slow not fast. And don’t try drowning your self with many chess stuff. It will not be helpful.

Thank you for your tips, I don't know if you guys would see this but I started playing only 2 rapid games a day and doing deep analysis every time, this helps me keep fresh every game and learn something every time I play. Thank you guys so much for your tips and now at the time of me typing this I'm aproaching 1100 I'm 1076 as I'm typing this and have went on some crazy winstreaks. I could't thank you guys enough, playing 2 games instead of like 10 or something like I used to is a game changer. Have a good day!

People say to look for checks, captures, and attacks. These are forcing moves that seize the initiative and force your opponent to deal with your problems which distracts them from their attack. This tip/trick does work and is true, but don’t look for them every move. Only in complex positions or positions where you’re like “What do I do now?” and can’t think of a good plan.

Hope this helps!
