You realize that the Computer Chess Championship set up the game-12 final position, and Stockfish was unable to win it as Black, even when playing against a program that it usually defeated?
Everybody seems convinced that they understand the position better than Magnus did...

Magnus isn't required to play the gallery. That sort of crap went out in the nineteenth century.

When did Fischer ever play the gallery? Are you even acquainted with the term?
I will agree that Magnus' decision wasn't entertaining for the spectators... that's not his job.
If you want entertainment for casual spectators... hire a clown.
you see Magnus has to play 15 20 moves to see its draw. next generation championship will have to play 0 moves to know that....

even if he did understand it as a draw. why would he not try to play it out with Caruana under time pressure . Caruana isn't a computer he could have very well messed up...

I know, the title seems a little Off-Topic of what I'm going to write about, but here it is.
WE ALL KNOW THE CARLSEN-CARUANA MATCH IS BORING.
Yes, it is! We're into tiebreaks and on the 12th game (correct me if I'm wrong) Carlsen had an advantage but still drew.
I mean, come on people! This wcc has become too boring for us for 12 straight draws. I mean don't we deserve better action than this?
