My oponent had just played Bh4and said 'oops', clearly if i take the bishop, i will be back ranked, is this cheating, could i report him??

Obviously, i did not take the Bishop.

No, of course it isn't! Theres no rule against trying to put off your opponent! Wink

If he's being irritating, though, you can always turn the chat window off.

Not only back ranked but mated in 2.

A gallant gesture worthy of Launcelot of the Round Table.

Unfortunately there is no rule against being a douche...just turn the chat window off, that's what I do, but it's still pretty annoying.

no Vaseline (the author with understand the comment ;))

he's just having a bit of fun. It is very unsportmanslike behaviour but just ignore it, he probably knows u r a better player than him anyway.

Josh Waitzkin as a child playing in New York parks would seemingly hang a piece, smack his face, and say, "Darn!" Then he would mate in 3 or mate in 6 or win the queen, or something like that. Of course, he didn't do that as an IM!

I like what he did there. There isn't enough creativity in chess nowadays.

it is a tactic many of us use (be honest) when we are sitting in front of who we are playing, a 'mug' move when you shake your head or mutter under your breath after you play it to kid them your not happy with the move. part of the game,it looks a lot 'sadder' to try it with a keyboard i have to admit . at school id re-reach for the piece id just moved then mutter and take my hand back, it didn't work against good players but i did have success against some, hey i was 13, whatever worked ay?
