URS(Universal Rating System)

I was wondering, is the URS rating accurate? Also, is it going to be used internationally over FIDE, or is just for specific tournaments?

If anyone has any answers, they are much appreciated!

ok.

I doubt ANYONE knows about this rating system to even have an opinion yet.

the first list was supposed to be released Jan 1

was it?

 ah. ty, diakona.

doesn't seem like a major difference, though carlsen seems stronger against other top ten- than in the elo rated list

Thanks for your replys! One other quick question(I scanned the chess db to make sure it doesn't answer it) will they award titles or anything along those lines?

urk
So URS has Nakamura at world #2 on the strength of his speed play.

I doubt FIDE will give up their control of titles, also I don't get the need for a new rating system.

I actually like the idea of having 1 rating.  Instead of separate ratings for Blitz, Bullet, Classical, Rapid, Quick, etc - I would rather just have 1 rating.

USCF should adopt this.  Specifically for online rated games.
