US chess league

If you get a decent team together then I'm sure you could try and apply to the league to see if they will accept you. USCL teams get sponsored to play so they aren't going to accept any team that doesn't stand a chance of competing. Do you have any idea if there are any players that live in Ohio that are a) strong enough and b) willing to play? I'm surprised you would try and organise this without knowing a single player who would be in your lineup.

Also, you seem to be currently living in Lima (profile) - USCL games might be played over the internet but for matches all the players on the team must play in the same room (ie. your Ohio team would have to play their games from a venue somewhere in Ohio)

Nothing but admiration for your enthusiasm, but I think you have a misunderstanding of the USCL. These are about the best players in the country. Take a look at the website and I think you'll see what I mean http://uschessleague.com/
I want to make a team Ohio (that were i was born) that is in the US chess league. this seems to be a big deal so i thought i had to be accepted by someone to enter.
