USCF Ratings

I have a question regarding the USCF rating system and how the initial rating is determined. Does the USCF take into account internet chess club ratings (e.g. Internet Chess Club) when determining a player's initial USCF rating? It seems Internet Chess Club is affiliated with USCF in some way.

It only takes games played in official USCF-rated events.  Casual games played on that platform do not affect your USCF rating.

No you’ll be unrated going into your first tournament event and provisional rated until I believe 25 rated games(?), but not completely sure on that.

Good point.  I misread and was thinking the question was solely about online ratings.

I want to clarify to the OP that online USCF ratings and over-the-board (OTB) USCF ratings are completely independent of each other.

A player with OTB ratings will get Online ratings initialized based on those ratings, with a few dependencies, when the first official US Chess Online rated games get played.
