using analysis board with daily chess ?

Being new to the concept of playing chess with 3 days for a move I'm concerned with the analysis board, which can be used during the game. Doesn't this actually change the game? In a normal game you have to do the analysis in your head, make a choice and move, there's no room for making "test moves" then taking them back for something better, not to mention the "touch - move - rule"  being completely eliminated. I feel it reduces the game to who can use a calculater the best and brings an entirely new element, previously not there to the game. Game analysis after a game, for sure, but during ? What is the general feeling about this tool ?

It has been done for ages in correspondence chess, wich is mostly about analytical skills. In the pre-computer era of course you must use a physical board (wich I also prefer today, btw). Take account, anyway, you can even do this playing live if you have enough time (something wich should be considered cheating, but it is impossible to detect).

I would certainly agree, during a live game it's cheating. I suppose my belief is that anything you can't work through in your head, without touching the pieces, makes it a differant game. But as I've said, I have no expieriance with this type of game only 50years of live games. Anyone else care to contribute an opinion?

It is a different game.. Also keep in mind that most are using the opening explorer as well - not just the analysis board. I use Daily games to study. I don't just choose the next move on the analysis board - I usually play all of the reasonable branches out several moves deep at almost every turn. I think I learn a lot about positional play that way. at least I think I do :oP

Yes, someone said once correspondence chess is like a perpetually adjourned game.
