Using chess.com explorer database while playing - good or bad?

In daily chess it is allowed to follow games played before when you play here. Your game can in fact repeat the moves of other games and you can use the chess.com explorer feature for this purpose. Do you think this is a good approach or do you believe is it better to make the moves by our own without the help of the database?

I use the database sometimes but I believe I assimilate better the ideas if I think for my own even if I don't make the best moves.

What about looking at the database for ideas and then choosing after you evaluate the resulting position? Oftentimes, there are multiple alternatives.

yes, I use the database to see the options. What I mean is if it isn't actually better not looking at all, during the games.

Better for what? If you are trying to improve your correspondence chess then surely it's best to use as many databases and reference materials as you can find? But if you are trying to get close to a live match experience then not using the database might make sense. Memory is like a muscle, if you are forced to use it (instead of a database) then it should get better.
