Greetings to all Chess.com users.

Chess has been a common interest among many children and adults alike. With many public Chess sites such as Chess.com or lichess.org, Chess has grown exponentially worldwide. Players make moves that come from common Chess theory. How can one use mathematics to make better Chess moves and increase rating?

Chess pieces are ranked by a system of points. Points are a way of determining which player is winning by material. Please note, lower points does not mean a loss. Queen = 5 points, Rook = 4 points, Bishop and Knight = 3 points, and Pawn = 1 point. A debate has been going over for centuries about the most important piece. Using linear theory and logic, it has been proven that all 64 squares are accessible by a knight.  The bishop will only be able to access the squares with the same color as the square the bishop started at, which is 32. With logic I was able to prove that one should play more knight endgames because of all the accessible squares and rushing pawns that can be subdued.

You point system highly underestimate the Queen.

I always thought that mathematicians make good chess players. I just didn’t know why.

Not only Mathematically, even Geometrically Math, Queen is most powerfull.I love and prefer knights cause I work pieces combined. But individually neither have the move power and central control like Q... Speaking individually comparing pieces. Queen is "multidimensional"
