I am an inexperienced tournament player. I recently played my second tournament, where boards and pieces were provided. The boards and pieces were dirty and the pieces were cracked and chipped. It was visually distracting to me. Is it rude to use your own set at a tournament where sets are provided?
I'm guessing it is, but wanted to ask just in case there is a common understanding for using your own equipment.
